11 January 2017 - The site.
17 January - Starting excavations for archeological survey. Rain stops work the next day, and survey is completed in February.
27 April 2017 - Footings are in. Real work began on 12 April.
11 May - 'Caviti' underfloor airflow system and waste pipes.
17 May 2017 -The 'Plataforma' is built, ready to receive the rest of the house structure.
19 June 2017 - Walls go up.
10 July 2017 - Roof is on.
3 August 2017 - Wood Beams, terrace.
10 August 2017 - Parapets going up.
10 August 2017 - Parapets and rain harvest profiling.
19 August 2017 - Internal insulation and double walls.
Early September - Roof waterproofing and water testing.
Final layer of cement, ready for tiling and parapet finishing.
Mid-September: Internal walls are in, cutting channels for plumbing and electrics.
24 September: doors and window frames have arrived.
Early October 2017: Plumbing system is built.
Mid-October: Electric ducting going in.
October: Stone walls waterproofed, insulated and first few feet of stonework.
1st November: House fully rendered, parapets done, stone walls underway.
13 November: Sub-floors down and ceilings rendered.
28 November - Roof is tiled.
7 December: Stone wall part done.
Window lintels are made of Juniper (Sabina) harvested on our land.
15 December: Internal walls rendered (first coat).
16 December: Terraces backfilled.
End December: Building bathrooms.
Early January 2018: Finishing stonework.
Mid-January: Running electric cables.
Guest bathroom built, ready for micro-cement render.
End January: External plumbing: Pool, cistern, waste and rainwater pipes in.
Very end of January: Terraces built.
Early February: Pool steps and preparation for tiling.
Mid-February 2018: Underfloor heating pipes and control boxes are put in.
Soon will be covered with a shallow layer of concrete, then tiling can start.
Early March, external solid doors go in.
Internal tiling is mostly done.
Also by mid-March the roof stairs are partly tiled.
Waiting for the custom-made banister to finish them.
Air-source heat pump and solar panels are delivered.
And 23 March, pool steps are built, pool is waterproofed, ready to be tiled.
3 April: pool is tiled, just a bit left to do on terrace, edges and pool overflow basin.
Mid-April: Doors and windows being fitted.
All windows have 'porticons', internal shutters. Glazing to follow.
18 April 2018: Morning fog.
Mid-May: Start rendering external walls, with a white cement, sharp sand and lime mix.
Garage door installed, steps tiled, stainless steel banister and gate made and installed.
Patio rendered.
Parapets partly rendered, chimneys built with 'floating' covers.
End May 2018: External rendering nearly done. Waiting for pergolas to be built.
.. as is internal final coat of fine skimming. Painting starts next week.
Pool plumbing all done. Using a salt electrolysis system.
Garage floor is down and plumbing for underfloor heating is underway.
Midsommer! Clearing rubble and starting internal painting.
About half of the inside has a first coat of paint.
And the bathrooms are being prepped for microcement.
26 June 2018: We've cleared most of the rubble and are starting to backfill with clean soil.

Mid-July 2018: Pergolas are on. Interior is painted, electrics are in, pool machinery is done.
Early August 2018: Bathrooms are fitted. Master bathroom.
Guest bathroom.
!3 August, I'm building the kitchen.
Landscaping is done. Pool will be filled next week.

End August 2018: kitchen well underway.
End September 2018: Solar water heater installed, pool fully functional, wardrobes built and underfloor heating installed.
Kitchen nearly finished, just pelmets to be done.
October 2018: The build is done and paid for. Now a few months/years of making it lived in.

In March 2019 we drive down from the UK in a van loaded with furniture, paintings, guitars, books, carpets...

March 2020, the creeping rosemary and lavender is taking off. First California poppies as well!
